A Road Trip to the FIT Show 2025

A Road Trip to the FIT Show 2025

500 miles, two team members, one electric vehicle, and plenty of inspiration.

This week, Nick and Luke took a break from their usual routines and made the journey from Cornwall to Birmingham’s NEC for the FIT Show 2025. It’s a 500 mile round trip, and yes — they did it in one of our electric fleet vehicles. With a bit of planning, the journey was simple enough, and it’s good to prove it can be done.

We didn’t attend the show to promote Mike Martin Window Systems. This was about staying curious, checking out the latest innovations, spotting new trends, and catching up with some of our brilliant suppliers from across the UK. These are the people who usually make the effort to come to us — so it was great to be the ones travelling this time.

Throughout the day, one thing became clear. Every time Nick and Luke introduced themselves and said where they were from, the response was always the same — surprise, followed by either fond memories or open envy. We’re proud to be based in Cornwall, and we never get tired of people’s reactions when we tell them.

After a packed day at the show, they found a quiet spot to unwind by the canal. As ever, we seem to gravitate towards water wherever we go. The journey home included the essential stop at Gloucester Services to charge the car. If you’ve been, you’ll know why it’s worth a mention.

A big thank you to all the suppliers who took the time to speak with us, and to the organisers for hosting a well-run and worthwhile event. Nick and Luke are back on Cornish soil now, motivated, enthused, and ready to get stuck back into business as usual.
